I hear whimpering. I am about to abort the turkey hunting mission and follow my ears to the sounds. Coyote pups maybe? Wind is in my face. Momma will likely return from downwind based on prior trail cam pics. . . Which means she will alter course. Hmmm. . . Decisions decisions. No gobbles on roost yet. . .

Damn right. Last week I had a yote come out into the field and start running turkeys, I immediately went into yote killing mode. I tried calling him over my way by doing some mouth squeaks but it didn't work.

I heard no gobbles today on my place. I checked all my cams. I have not had a tom on cam since opening day. I have always had them through mid-May before. Once it is over they are gone until about August...seems early but with the hot weather in March maybe they are done.

Can't kill them from the couch. It's probably this weather that keeping some of them quiet.
