Went out this morning at 9, didn't see any turkeys in the field that I was seeing them in. Heard no gobbles, tons of crows came through and no shock gobbles.

Got my second bird yesterday morning! Set my jake decoy right below the roost and the entire flock landed on it with a nice Tom right in the middle of my shooting lane in full strut!

I was just looking at the videos I've taken so far this season. We walked right up under this hen on opening day of youth season. Watched her fly down and feed off. I never knew she had a beard until I watched the video!

That's awesome! There's a bearded hen running around where I hunt, she looks like she's 90 years old.

I can't wait until Sunday evening next week when this is all over. That way I can quit doing this to myself. Keep finding a way to screw it up. Latest folly.... Sticking decoy out when I see a Tom standing at 30 yards looking at me.

I'm out. Never tried in evening before. Sweaty walk in. No birds seen. Hoping the just reverse their tactics from mornings. I don't plan on calling. I anticipate a more cautious bird going to roost. Probably thinking less about breeding and more about roosting safely. Probably won't want to draw attention to himself. Seems logical but I could be totally wrong. Let you know when I find out.
