Ohio Turkey Hunting Report

That is what I am noticing where I am hunting... Had to separate gobblers with separate hens. Bought time on Monday all 12 gobblers were 3 trees apart from each other.
I still saw all 5 Tom's today in a group with hens out in the field. Then I had a Tom with a hen in the Alfalfa, thought I had him dead until the hen started dusting herself and he left.

Back in the saddle again. I let Travis skip first period as it's PE am his grades are good. Back in the hole where we had two jakes and a tom during youth season. It rained last night so we're setup to cut them off as they head to a field. Bird just gobbled about 45 yards to our left. Gotta go.

Back out in the blind pin the food plot today! After a solid rain yesterday they should be in the plot. Good luck all!!

I stopped and listened at a woods on my way in to work this morning. Didin't hear nothing. Looks like the farmer had turned the fields last night so the birds may just be off their patterns. I was running a bit late too.

It was exciting at my house this morning. Turkeys like our place when it rains. Hope the neighbor's don't mind the Benelli sounding off at 7 AM on Friday! Biggest bird to date is on the ground...

Henned up bad. Couldn't even get a jake to work. Gave a few courtesy gobbles in the tree but wouldn't get worked up. He pitched and met two other jakes and hens in the field. Never gobbled on the ground.

Today was one of the slower days so far. Set up under a hen, her and I went back and forth for several minutes before she came to investigate deke. Heard two gobbler's and moved to set up on one. Close but no shot fired. Maybe next time.

Henned up here also. Set up along a field before daylight...as light broke I saw a blind setup on the other side of the field in line with my decoys. A bird then gobbled 75 yards behind me over my right shoulder. He flew down immediately and gobbled again. Hens jumped down with him and they all went over the hill and crossed the creek. A few other distant gobbles.
