Hope you find her! Let us know in the morning. As I write this, I realize you guys are probably hard at work thinking of recovery strategies / playing beer pong.

I had a fuggin blast. I seen more deer from stand at Fluteman's spot then I had all season up here so far.
The yougins came in and fed on acorns for a long time. I was waiting on momma to follow them up the hill but she never did. About an hour or so later I hear Fluteman say " Keep watching over there, I hear deer in that bottom. Sure enough a few minutes later 2 good sized does pop up the hill. The first one took a few good hops and just locked up. The second doe just stopped in her tracks just barely able to see over the ridge. It was getting close to last light so I don't know if maybe at her angle that she skylined me sitting in the stand or what but she turned and headed back down the hill. The first doe was still just standing there and looking very hard to the field that was 30 yards to our right. Sitting there wondering what she was looking at I glance over to the field to see a BIG deer body heading in our direction. I'm looking for antlers because of how big this deers body is. There wasn't any. Damn that's a hog of a doe and about that time another is behind her so I turn in the stand to setup for a 25 yard shot on one of them as soon as they get to the opening leading into the woods. I went to spread my feet out a bit on the platform and my knee hit the seat and it SQUEAKED. FUG!!!! The doe that was still standing in front and just to the left of us at 25-30 yards looks straight at me and Fluteman perched in this tree and starts stomping. Both the big does in the field bolt and soon after the little bitch that busted us took off.

Just a kickass time in the woods, meeting up with friends, and eating great food. I can't say enough how great Greg and Kate was for letting me come down and hang out and hunt their place.

Thanks for a great weekend everybody. Can't wait to do it again.

Well it has been a little while since I have been able to log on and update. With the trek down south this past weekend and work really picking up it has been tuff to say the least.

Friday afternoon I arrived at Sandridge outfitters and got things ready for the weekend festivities as everyone else rolled in. Friday night I nestled into a stand at paradise. Liking what I was seeing in the landscape and the stand location I had high expectations for the evening. About 30 minutes into the hunt I had a unexpected interruption.

This dude did laps through this field for a good 10 minutes. Needless to say I didn't see anything the rest of the evening, but it was still a great sit, enjoying country that I just don't get to see where I normally hunt.

Friday evening after the hunt consisted of alot of great food and beer around the fire. Got to meet a few more people and put some faces with some names.

Saturday morning I was back into paradise. Saw a total of 6 deer. 2 bucks and 4 does. All the does seemed a bit on the skid-dish side and the bucks where just mossing through. Both where younger bucks and still needed a few years before thinking of shooting them.

Evening hunt it was a time for a change in scenery. Went out to the farm and hunted a small food plot on the north end of the farm on a ridge. Was a beautiful sit with a small spike making his way into ten yards at last shooting light. Didn't want to burn my buck tag on that.

Sat. night found us all at the Flutemans Bar & Grill with more food than we all could eat and plenty of beer.

A huge thanks goes out to Jesse and Tracie for opening up their house and hosting. It will never be forgotten. I just hope that some day I can somehow repay the favor.
