Got woken up this morning by the boy telling me someone hit my truck parked out In front of my house. Dumbass woman turned around in neighbors driveway and backed into.. busted up the bumper and right fender. Pushed the bumper into drivers wheel to where I can't turn right without it rubbing... Oh yeah she had no license and no insurance....

It absolutely floors me the number of people that drive on a suspended license and without insurance. Someone really ought to stiffen the penalties for doing so, maybe jail time? Driving is a right in our society, not a guaranteed freedom!

Lost a dog today fellas. My wife bought 2 Chihuahua's soon after we graduated college. I have long referred to them as "her" dogs and our lab as "my" dog.

Well Roxy has had medical problems from the start. Seizures, thyroid, collapsing trachea, heart murmur, you name it. She has been on numerous meds 3 times a day for almost 9 years.

A couple weeks ago she developed a dry cough and not this passed weekend but the weekend before we took her in for a visit and x-rays. Thought was bronchitis or congestive heart failure as potential risks.

Today Alyssa got home and Roxy never came running to see her and the kids. Our 3.5 year old told Alyssa that Roxy was laying down in the basement. Alyssa went down and confirmed her fear. Luckily a friend was driving by and was able to stop with her kids to watch ours enabling Alyssa to run Roxy to the vet.

We new today was coming giving Roxy's challenges and we are glad she went on her own rather than us having to decide when enough is enough regarding quality of life.

Either way, as many of you have also experienced, it sucks losing a dog. RIP Roxy.

Damn it that sucks Ryan. Really sorry to hear about your loss. I hold dogs closer than some family members. Hope Alyssa & the kids are doing alright.

One good thing that came from Lori & I putting Buck down a few years back was that it gave us, as parents, the opportunity to talk to our kids about life & death. Not that it's a positive thing, but maybe more of a teaching moment or life lesson kind of moment. I think that helped somewhat later on when they were faced with losses of family members, and they were able to somewhat understand things. It also opened the door for our kids to know that they could talk to us about these things. They could ask us questions, and that we would try to figure out the answers the best we could together as a family.

It's never easy Ryan, but like Sean said it can be a learning environment and a negative turns into a positive.....

Great perspective on things Sean.

Sorry to hear of the difficult times Ryan. Won't be long before things are back to normal. Hang tough brother.
