80% sure I saw my buck this AM slipping through the thick stuff. Back at it in the PM. I need to get my work caught up. Nearly 500 days of history with this deer and this is the closest Ive come to locking on to him. Hunted 5 days straight, took 2 days off. Figures, he showed up twice during daylight, 2 times at night both days.

Well didn't get back out this evening due to needing to get some honey dos done. The wife inherited a bedroom suit from her grandma. Took two tips to get it done so it was dark by the time we got home with the last load.

Saw more deer tonight while transporting furniture than I have all week in the stand. Talk about frustrating.

The wife is giving me some grief about both of us having the whole week off work and us not spending time together. So I am going to take tomorrow off and sleep in. Back at it hard Friday and Saturday.

Rattled in a 3 pt this morning. Then heard him and a smaller buck fighting. This evening the two bucks from this morning as well as another small buck were all out strolling through the field, playing like teenage boys. They paid zero attention to the 3 does I saw. Once again, another amazing day weather wise, glad to see some deer, just can not believe the lack of anything that resembles a rut.

Same here in the SW Seth. I haven't done much hunting but a lot of early morning driving through rural countryside settings all around my area between 3:15-4:30am just looking for deer among the picked cornfields and standing and picked beanfields. In 6 separate trips I've seen just 1 small deer(yesterday morning) that was bedded down along a ditch along the road I was on between two huge picked cornfields! I haven't even seen a glowing eye in the distance! Rut???.....I can't even find the deer! Lol

Alex, I hope you kill that slob of a deer! The mass and frame are very impressive! Prolly one of the most impressive deer I've seen on our site this year! Good luck with him!

At it again this morning. Saw 5 bucks and 2 does yesterday and had possible shots at 3 of them. Just nothing big. It was a good day though. Hunting a clear cut and hardwood ridge. Some large bucks travel here, but I haven't seen many does. Good luck to all of you out there joining me.

Here is my morning: Momma has to work today. What? Called off? Great. Too late to hit it. Well, maybe I can slide in late. What? They called you in to some training? Ugh. Guess it wasn't meant to be. Frustrating. So much for hunting. So much for any quality time with the wife. Might hit it this evening but it would mean missing one of my son's soccer games. Tough call during the rut. Both are opportunities you can't get back.

Good luck fellas. Hoytmania- I can relate. Enjoy the time with your wife this morning.

Milo- I am hoping for a text. . . .with a dead deer. Good luck brother. You are due after your deerless sits.

Just had a hot doe get run by my stand followed by a little buck. She may get an arrow through her if she comes back
