Went out to my land with my buddy who has never shot a deer. Had 6 come through, 5 doe and a small buck at 5pm. We were sitting in my shed, they all came through and gave him a 30 yard shot but he froze up.

'Bout froze my butt off tonight, but it sure felt good to get a couple of hours of hunting in! Didn't see anything but it was still great to be out there.

Good for you Diane. Was wondering if you were going to make it out again or just enjoy watching your kids hunt.

I have greatly enjoyed the kids hunting, but my back is finally better and I am enjoying my own time in the woods. I also got out Christmas Day for awhile. :pickle:

An inch or 2 of new snow overnight and its still snowing right now...why not give it a try, the wind has finally died down and lets see if the NE wind helps anything

Saw 4 deer and a coon this evening. Forgot my rangefinder in my truck and I threw an arrow right over the back of a big doe. That would of been my first deer taken off our land since we bought it. They didn't snort after the shot and hung around but I didn't get another chance. Gonna try tomorrow evening!

Ouch. That isn't cool. Don't get me wrong, GREAT find, but why so early? Would make me nervous. Upper 140's?

image.jpgNo deer for me today again...at least my tire tracks were the only ones on the property today...and my first bow kill was a squirrel that just sat there and let me kill him...I found the quick way to skin one and put him in the freezer!!!

I watched a doe this evening squat like she was peeing and she started rubbing her back legs together for about 30 seconds. Was she pissing on her glands?
And I just remembered this, I had corn around the area she was doing this and the deer dug the ground all up. Would she have thought it was a scrape?
