Got caught up in the stand during a lightning frenzy this evening. Learned how to undo my safety harness rather quickly.

Decided since it had just rained off and on all day of the 15-30min variety to try a sit this evening in the blind. HOLY SHIT!!!!
That sucked lmao. Hammered with rain downpour and the worst part was I decided to hunt the cornfield drainage this evening. Now, I have done some pretty stupid things in my hunting years but this has to top all of it lol. Dante was going to run video if anything came out and we sat in the blind dry as a bone until the water level in the blind got to be about 6-8" deep lol. Decided we had enough and packed it all up only to get drenched on the 3/4 mile walk out lmao.
Went from huntin bucks to ducks in 30mins flat lmao. Should have had a boat instead of a blind lol.

I took Mason out for his first hunt of the season tonight. I checked the radar and saw a small window between storms... we did see one deer in that 30 minutes, a small doe fawn. Enjoyed watching two fox squirrels shaking off the water while gathering acorns. The same acorns that the deer are NOT touching. Strange.
Good memories for you guys Adam and Dave. You guys will laugh about tonight when you are old men. "They say sometimes hunting, ain't all about the kill."
I tell ya Phil, it was pretty darn funny. I think we laughed all the way back to the trucks. Never seen the water come up that fast lol.

Went out tonight. Was hoping the front blowing in with rain projected at dusk would get them on their feet. Saw 3 doe at 6:30 but nothing else.
Front didn't make it in time. I hit the rain on the way home and within a mile the temp went from 79 to 66.
