This is my first morning out. As soon as I took some pics, a few does busted ou t in front that I didn't see. A small buck was pushing them. I'm in one of my ground blinds using my xbow

No luck on the recovery. Great blood in first 40-60yds. Nothing after. Hank did eventually lead us to a few more drops but they were nothing more than drops. I have a feeling this deer is alive and sore. Hunter believes he hit him good. I wonder if it wasn't a high hit possibly just catching the top of the offside lung? Good bright red blood last night close to impact and a small bit of frothiness in it. As far as the deer traveled before we found the additional 3-4 drops leads me to believe he is not dead. I suppose he could have clotted and filled up, but I am leaning towards alive. We covered too much ground with 3 of us and a dog. I hope we eventually find him, but I think it will be on the hoof or trail camera.

Yeah, and keep updating! I'm working now, and with it being a Thursday I'm probably going to be hustling in here...I'd appreciate a little deer story to make the night slide by a lil quicker!!!!!

Made my first mobile stand move tonight. Set up in a new spot, hopes are high. At least it will provide me with a good observation of a large area.

New muddy sticks

Went to glass a field after work and saw a truck parked by the woods, way down in the field. Another hunter shot the doe i let walk on opening morning.

Didnt bother to tell him about the 4 does and 2 bucks across the street in a winter wheat field. One of the bucks was a bigun. Chased the does around for a bit, squared of with the smaller buck and ran him off.

It's starting to warm up a bit.

After I made my post this morning, a doe & two fawns cut across at an angle & walked by my other ground blind setup at 20 yards...:tantrum: I KNEW I should have gone there. Anyway, I went back out this afternoon to the second ground blind & didn't see squat, other than a tomcat walked right in front of me without realizing what I was. I was wearing my ghillie suit & didn't have my Ghostblind. I was pretty impressed with that, but as soon as I got back to the house 80 yards away, I recieved a text from my mms cam that a ( small ) buck just stepped out where I was watching...lol
