I've had my coffee & I'm getting ready to go out.... & mulch leaves. I have to work the next three days then off another 3 weeks. I'll then hit the woods Tues morn & dedicate that time off for meat & horns. Good luck fellas !

Sat till 10:30. Nothing, not a doe, a buck, a fawn .... nothing...Again.

Hmmm... Lets see here, sleep in, stay in the nice warm cozy house. Maybe even stay in my pajamas. Sip some coffee, watch some T.V....

...Oh no, get up early, get dressed in clothes that smell like a campfire, go out in the cold, climb a tree, and sit there waiting to see some mythical creature that I'm not even sure reall exists.

Kinds feel like a dumbass.

Not sure if i can get back out this afternoon, but I sure hope so.

lol. You know u love it man!

Put the waterfowl gear away and picked up my deer stuff. Drove to the cabin and realized I forgot my smoker...ugh. Drove back home and my 5 y/o says she wants to go hunting. Load all the stuff to take a kid and get almost to the hunting spot and she says she now feels sick. Drove her back home. Lol

Now sitting in an urban spot looking to whack a doe. The farmer is cutting the corn right now.

Realized how much I HATE climbers. I decided to go sit a feild edge with my climber this evening. In a new spot I've never hunted. I've only used this climber a few times, and it's an ancient heavy old summit. So after looking about 20 minutes to find a tree I finally found a little ash, and as I looked up I saw a now hanger up in it. So I'm thinking okay cool someone's hunted here before. So I ass around with my climber and get it untangled out of the briars and limbs at the base of the tree and start climbing. And I finally get up and get situated after clanking around and begin to pull up my bow. Well after I get it about 3-5 feet in the air my fuggin bow rope snaps and there goes my bow. It was all I could do not to yell. So I fugged around and finally got back down and picked up my bow. No damage from what I could see but still. I still worry it will shoot off now. So I hustled back to the truck, threw the stand in the bed and came to my closest stand from my truck and here I set. If I see a deer I'll be the luckiest person alive. Ultimately it was my fault for not checking my rope and choosing a bad tree with briars and limbs around the base. But for now on I'm sticking to hang ons. Rant over.

Goodluck fellas!

Karissa and I have been set up since 4:15 this beautiful cool afternoon. We got to the base of our tree with the wind blowing perfectly out of the West. Unfortunately there was a nice buck bedded in the creek bottom 40 yards away in the honeysuckle and when I was putting on our LW sticks getting them seated good he blew out of there running up the creek turning over every rock for 50 yards. I didn't see it but Karissa knows what a nice buck looks like and she said it was decent to real nice...dang it!
The good thing is I have two cameras in this bottom and one was like 25 yards from where he was bedded so I'm hoping I caught him on video.
I'm armed with the binos and video camera and she with the 10 point. We've been going over shot angles and distances and having a blast!
Good luck to everyone joining us this evening!

On our way here we found this dead buck laying dead by an apparent poaching job! Fuggin sad!

Kody and I are in the stand where we've been seeing lots of doe. Klay and my dad are in a tent across the field where most have been coming out.

We had action by us immediately. 2 spikes and a doe. The spikes stood at 25 yards. Doe didn't come close enough for a shot. They fed away from us.

Nothing is safe tonight. Maybe a small buck. I am not expecting much with the wind and also this location is hit or miss. Just in one of those "Burger in da freezer" mindsets tonight.

moundhill- I agree I hate climbers, I must be too clumsy I am always making a racket. Last year on the way out of my climber the bow rope broke on me! UGHH I only like them if I leave them at the base of a tree, and trim the tree way before season, just dont work for me.

Good luck and safe hunting all!
