Bittersweet project to finish there Jon. I am sure it will feel extra special to have it done, but not quite the same. Definitely motivation to finish it. Should be somewhat theraputic for you. It would be for me. Looking forward to seeing the progress!

I've always wanted a log splitter. I don't have a place to store one & it would be quite impractical for my needs. I did however buy a 7 ton electric splitter recently & this weekend I was able to finally play with it a bit. I cut a few trees down back in December & haven't been able to get to them again with all the snow. These trees are no more than 12 " in diameter & this lil pup had no problem splitting what I did feed it yesterday & today.

Thanks guys. This has hydraulics as well, so I pray it never develops a leak. It's great to be able to store it without a problem & the stand that I ordered along with it is a real back saver. I'll post a video in a few days when I'm off. That'll be fun, I'm interested on how it does on Yorkies.

Okay as requested, here's a short video of a log being split. It took forever to download, so I'm kinda glad I didn't record any more. My neighbor had helped me cut the trees, so I'm giving him all the bigger pieces since he burns wood all winter.

The end result. I'm gonna have to modify that activation handle, I'm too tall.

Thanks. There's a hundred different makes out there I bet. This was just under $490 including the stand. At least the shipping was free. It weighs @ 100 lbs. Those feet that protrude outward can be a real pain if you trip over it or bump it into your foot when moving. I did that today & my foot feels like it's broke.

Yes. I watched it to the end. Glad that will suit your needs Kevin. Shouldn't take up much room when not in use either.

Not a bad deal there Kevin.... Works good for the smaller jobs.... No reason too have a full size one with the storage it needs as well....

Thanks again. My back thanked me too. It was fun messing with. When I mentioned the price tag, meant I had paid extra for the stand. This splitter cost $450. There's better prices out there on some, but the reviews for this were all good that I read.

I have a 3pt splitter collecting rust. Have a 3pt splitter converted to run off skid loader hydraulics. Then I have the splitter I use all the time. Overkill? Not if you are splitting 10-15 chords a year and have 3 skid loaders in the 75hp range at your disposal. Saves a lot of time and hopefully will enable me to burn firewood later in life.

Needed some more ass around here to handling all the downed and dead trees at my house and the farm. I'm a Stihl guy, but decided to support a local business owned by a really good dude.

Husqvarna 450 with 18" bar. 50cc saw. Really happy with it after running a tank of gas through it.
