It's fair week. What kids? Haven't seen them.
17 is what was taken out of the yard. We never stepped foot in the woods. Now I just hope that a hickory nut doesn't come out of the mower and break a window.
I put it off long enough. I finally bit the bullet and dropped the coin on a new double sink vanity for the master bathroom. I had a 60” cabinet custom built from a local cabinet shop, along with a beautiful solid surface top and recessed sinks. Solid oak face and door/drawer fronts, tip-outs on top, and soft-close drawers and doors. It cost a pretty penny but it sure does look nice and should last a very long time. The under-sink plumbing required me to get a little creative. It actually came out cleaner than I anticipated. This drain ties into my shower drain across the room… and since we didn’t run a vent through the roof at the time of remodeling, I installed an AAV valve under the sink to act as a “wet vent.” So far so good! Just need to clean things up, mount the backsplash and sidesplash, and then do some shopping for a mirror and light fixture.

Front doors are mounted and I put in a false wall inside behind a shelf, to help hide the plumbing. Turned out pretty nice. Now I’m just waiting on the remaining pull handles that had to be ordered. Once I reinstall all the baseboard and the piece of bottom cabinet trim we’ll be all set. Oh… and of course mirror and light fixture shopping with the Mrs. That should be a treat.
