Good work John! Keep after it man!!!

I'm back up to 200ish right now after a horrible month thanks to a busy schedule. Today marks the start of getting back into the flow of things. I'm starting to gain weight partly from not eating as well as I had been, but also because of changing my workout. I'm working towards new goals, so I know the weight gain will come. I plan to start tracking BMI since it will give me a better idea of what is happening...

After almost three weeks of not seeing the scale go down I had a woosh today...down 3 lbs for a total loss of 80 lbs. 65 lbs to go!

Some good things that have happened since my last update:

Found a running partner who is at the same running level I'm at. As a bonus we our different styles compliment each other very well - I'm a strong starter and he's a strong finisher so we can push each other at our weaker moments.

Last week we shed 45 secs off our mile pace while running a distance of 5k.

We can consistently run an 11 minute mile, down from an almost 13 minute mile in just a few short weeks.

My goals for the next 4 weeks

Lose 15 lbs.

Achieve a pace of 11 minute mile over a distance of 5k.

Forgot about this thread.

I had stopped all things weight loss/fitness since I got back from vacation basically. I gained some weight back (10 pounds) but kept up my stamina by doing more active things in everyday life. I was going to a gym that was a good distance away and they finally opened the one in my town. So I am back at it full stride. I am going to track my stats on here so can keep me honest ;)

Starting weight 250
Mile - 8:21
Bench - 285

Went to open gym last night and played full court for 3 hours straight. Wonder how many calories I burnt?

Great job, Charles! I've been using myfitnesspal.com to track my calories, fat, carbs, along with cardio. You can also use it to track weight training. It's free! Check it out and if you join let me know, I'll send you a friend request. They also have a forum ("Community"). It's really been a great tool for me.

As of this morning I'm down 84lbs. I was kinda hoping to be down 85 lbs, but I'll take a 4 pound weight loss. Also, my 5k time has been improving, my buddy and I have taken over 4 minutes off our time over the course of the last two weeks. We ran one in 35 minutes and change on Tuesday. Feeling good...

Good work JJ, you have been steady and consistent to burn that all off! What's the end reward, other than health and happiness?

I've been hitting the gym with renewed passion again...feels good.

Nice job JJ! It has got to feel good to continue moving towards the goals. I guess the weight didn't show up in 6 months, so if it takes a little longer to get it off than you expected you shouldn't fret over it. Just keep going the direction you are heading! Congrats!

The end reward, hopefully, is to feel comfortable without wearing a shirt when we're on vacation or at the beach, etc. That confidence will be a huge reward for me.

John, you are kicking ass and taking names brother. Keep up the great work!

I'm slowly progressing towards the new set of goals. I'm at 202-203 right now and my BMI has dropped a little as well. I'm still losing fat, but gaining muscle weight at a decent rate right now. I put up 280, which is an all time best for me. With some hard work and luck, I'll have a 300 bench by Christmas. For a former skinny kid, turned fat guy with a 74" wing span, I'll take it!

5x10 sets on the bench are at 225 now.

5x5 squat is 385.

Feeling strong again and it feels good.

Nice work dude!

My strength and definition continues to improve. My BMI is still on the decline as well. It's funny to see muscular development in areas of my body where I never experienced it before. I'm about a month away from changing my workout routine completely so I can chase down 300. I just want to get the bulk of my bowhunting done first...

Still hitting things hard. I'm working to get down to 190-195 before Thanksgiving. I managed to get 285 on Monday, so I'm gaining ground there. Starting to work on a new workout routine to help me get bigger. It'll be interesting to see how things progress once I start that...

I think I'm gonna join this thread for a new found motivation. I live for the gym...it became one of my passions as early as 8th grade. I turn 30 next month and plan to make my 30 the best year of my life, especially in the gym. Jesse and I have been working out for a few months together and I've seen him transform with his routine. Next month starts my routine. :) At 6'1" and 250lbs id like to continue shedding "fat" and gaining strength. My goal is to lose 15-25lbs and still eclipse the 400lb bench mark, which is currently at 375lbs. I also plan on getting jesse to that 300lbs milestone. (Equivalent to OBB of hunting) goodluck to all and time to get after it!

It seems like I'm always cyclical in my workouts, but I'm hitting it again. I got busy and stopped working out, and forgot how important it is, and gained a few more pounds as a result. Last year I made it a priority and I was in the best shape I've been in since high school football, and mentally sharp as well. I'm doing sets with 205 again and it feels good, building from there and getting my ass back on the bike!

Good to see you on this thread too Bucknut, you obviously know what the heck you're doing and it will be good to get your advice!
