Palmetto bug. AKA a Florida Woods Cockroach.
They don't prefer habitating indoors or eat garbage so they're not like a ghetto roach. They prefer leaf litter and we areas outside. They can get pretty big.

Yesterday was my oldest sons 4th birthday so we took a day off from unpacking and stuff to just hang out and did the birthday thing. We took him down to play at the beach park in the evening. There is a big playset and pier here and a big beach for kids to swim at.
