07/27/23 - First Week Inventory, Nearly 1,800 PixNClips of @theotherfarm
Video description:
This video contains the first week of trail camera captures of Whitetail Deer at the other farm, which is in an entirely different county than ours. Most of the wildlife in the video are Whitetail Deer trail camera captures from July 19 through until July 27, 2023, the first full week of having everything up and working.
On July 5th, I was in the area and stopped over at this farm to lay out (100) one hundred pounds of whole corn, (35) thirty-five pounds of Rocky’s 360 minerals and (1) one Rocky’s Trophy mineral lick. A week later I returned, same scenario pretty much, right after work, and brought only (50) fifty pounds of whole corn with me. Once I arrived at the feed site, I quickly realized that all the corn and mineral salt powder were completely gone. The place was tore up! So, I went ahead and laid out the only bag that I wheeled out with me, jumped over to the Tactacam Reveal X cellular trail camera, swapped SD memory cards and batteries because they were completely dead for over a month. Then I hung a camera right above the food to capture closeup photo images of whatever decided to feed.
I returned once again a week later and replenished the feed site with another (200) two hundred pounds of whole corn, another (35) thirty-five pounds of powdered minerals. Jumped on over to the Reveal cellular trail camera and swapped SD cards, ran back over to the feed site to swap the SD card in the trail camera hanging above the food. Afterwards, I spent approximately an hour cleaning up debris, tossing downed trees and limbs into the bottom of the nearest ravine and cleared deer trails as well. After I finished, I hiked back to the pickup truck and drove home by midafternoon. I started this video project that evening and worked on it whenever I could in between other pressing matters over the past week.
This is the largest video project that I have ever done for YouTube. The original video file is over (3) three hours long to view completely with (1,759) seventeen hundred and fifty-nine individual media image files within it, which equates to over (35) GB/thirty-five GiGi-bites of 4K ultra high-definition "PixNClips" in consecutive order by way of timestamp from two different cameras, and yes, I viewed the entire original video at least twice while making this much, much shorter version. I reduced the viewing duration time by (4) four times and added some background music that isn’t unbearable for most hopefully. I usually create at least one of these types of videos for each farm a year. This video did not cost me a dime per say, just my time while sitting down to create it, and whatever food I laid out for the wildlife. I do not use any special type of media editing software or tools to create my videos, just what's available on either my phone or laptop. Each one of the channel’s playlists contains prior historical information of wildlife from the areas I hunt, deer being the main subject, target or objective. In this video, you will have the opportunity to see a raccoon assault my trail camera, multiple times throughout the week.
My impression or assessment of the current health, numbers and recent activity of the local deer herd is about normal, based on previous years’ knowledge and experience hunting and maintaining the property. I do expect, however, the better and more mature bucks to start showing up throughout the month of August.
I also wanted to share with you that I learned how to create and add chapters to YouTube videos, and this is the first video I’ve ever included them, simply because the video is long still. I created a chapter for Wednesday the 19th, which is the first one, second chapter for Thursday, one for Friday, and the rest of the (7) day week span in the final chapter. Just click on the play bar of the video to immediately go to those locations within the video.
I hope you enjoy today’s video which does show all the deer that stepped in front of the camera anytime during the first week of them being operational for the new year and thank you for taking the time to read and watch. More videos are in the works, and I intend to have them available soon
