The other farm has a bunch of Wild Turkeys too, approximately {20} twenty of them that cruise around throughout the property that will occasionally scare the livin crap out of me if I don't see or hear them first 😂

One snapshot from last evening that I like and one more from the other farm this morning where the bucks seem to finish up feeding.

I'm finished sharing at the moment, got plenty of things to do today. Have a good one everyone!

Fun fact, the young buck above is the very same buck that fed out the feed trough for the very fist time.

9:00 a.m. and I'm still goofing off! Anyway, wanted to include a little more with today's stats update. A gif file showing what goes on pretty much every night in the front yard [same young resident buck posted previously] and a group of the antlerless that typically shows up midmorning daily at the other farm.

Is that turtle in the yard?

No, that's a trophy rock that I moved yesterday. There are two of them near that feeder. I moved that one closer to the REVEAL X 2.0 trail camera to attempt to get the deer to stop for a moment for some better photo opportunities hopefully. The other one is just beyond the feeder underneath the big Daniel Fur pine tree where the bucks tend get to that tree for tree rubs on the younger smaller trees within it, create licking branches and lay down deer scrapes every year. I have a feeling that there will be a lot more of them this year than ever before since I've lived here.

HE'S BACK FOR ANOTHER YEAR!

865814048440877-100-4-09202023192336-HD-W1001572x.jpg

He's showed up in front of the cameras a few times already this year, but this is probably the better pic of them all at the moment. He's the granddaddy of the area. I saw him with my own eyes on the last day of the 2022/23 hunting season. Video shows him below however the better image of this deer is from two years ago when I first got back into hunting that property during the early season, ever since 2012. He's the one that I'll be hoping to knockdown this year.

I shared the first video of him in my TOO hunt journal two years ago. 3:02 minutes into the video is the same buck as above.

I have no idea how old he is, I just know he's a shooter.

Beautiful evening!

20230929_194802.jpg

🦌 🎬 picked up as the day progressed. Hopefully tomorrow it'll be completely on 🔥 for everyone in the mornin!

We're supposed to have fog for the first couple of hours. Still, I'll be up in a 🌳 somewhere.

Some of the 🦌 made their presence known this evening, which are the ones that stay real close to 🏡

One of the other bucks above this evening.

The following video is nearly all the photos & video clips taken during today. Some trail camera photos included.

I thoroughly enjoyed today's hunts!

Hunted the first & last two hours of the new 🦌 bow season opener today. Heard and seen plenty. Not an arrow took flight during either hunts. No antlerless 🦌 will be harvested by me at home this year due to the low numbers of them. None of the bucks I'm interested in seeing appeared in daylight today. On to the next hunt. I hope you enjoy the new hunting season video, and thank you for watching!

Did that project buck ever offer a shot? All the pics I didn't see a shot offered. I know some people put a branch or some kind of blocker up so the deer have to offer a shot to get to the food. Great angles for that cam tho! 😍

Yes! I could have easily shot him at approximately 8 yards broadside as he approached the feed area. He is one of the bucks that was born 2 years ago right here on the property, also the first deer to eat out of the feed trough too. He has never left the area that I know of during the entire time he's been alive. I believe he is one of the offspring of the buck I shot back in 2021. He has the same body and rack characteristics as that 2021 buck I harvested. He's truly turning out to be a real good looking buck for sure. Next year, I expect him to blow up plenty and turn fully into a beautiful big 10 or more!

Best thing we did with the kids was use a deer figure and a laser pointer for them to visualize where the shot would be and how angles affect where they aim. Deer can move odd in the blink of an eye so it helped them think for themselves if they should wait or take the shot.

Levi is better than I am about that part. In the pictures in the YouTube video denny made, I did not see an angle that Levi would've taken a shot. This probably because I am watching and looking carefully from a different point of view now. It isn't just cool, I'm analyzing what denny shares at a different angle. Which I know is misleading as the pictures show very little of what happened. That is why I asked. Lol. Maybe I should've text him and it might seem as I'm questioning his set up, which I am not. Just looking for more information. Which I also didn't ever think was needed from denny 🤣 . We all know he is very thorough with his information packed post.
