Last summer I bought a Bridgeport mill at an auction. Just an older basic model, no digital read out or power feed on the table. I brought it home drenched it with oil and put it in the barn. Finally got it in the shop today. It probably weighs 1800-2000 pounds, it's 50" wide x 62" deep x 78" tall. Problem is the shop door is 37"x72". So I tilted the head 90degrees to get it short enough, ran the table all the way to the left. Picked it up with the skid steer by a very short piece of chain so I could swivel it through the door. Set it on some pipes and rolled it in to place. Nothing to it except for some reason I felt the need for 3 ibuprofen when I finished. Had a guy helping, defiantly not a one man job. Still have to wire it, it's 3ph and I have a converter.

That's a great piece of equipment Sam! Very handy to have around, especially on a farm!

I'm ashamed to even post this picture, but it'll help with the motivation! Our garage has become a catch all for things and has gotten worse as the summer has progressed. Today starts the journey to a garage I can be proud off. The main goal for today is to get all my hunting stuff pulled aside and take a full load of stuff to storage. The back half of the garage is going to be my workshop witch custom built shelving. The front half will have storage along the exterior wall and room for the wife to park this winter now that the baby is here. I'll also be adding lighting and outlets, as well as putting OSB down the interior wall that I'll paint white.

We've lived here 4 years and she has never parked in the garage. My hope is to be done by Christmas depending on the $ situation. For now I need to work on getting a clean slate, then I can lay out the plans!

I'm long overdue for a burn pile and a storage building run! I swear the rest of my place is in MUCH better shape!!! lmao

That looks like the storage room off from my rec room. I soent the early summer getting crap out of there. Now we can actually walk in there and everything is organized. Talk about satisfying.

Our garage gets like that from time to time. It's the main entrance to the house and everybody just throws stuff in there. I feel your pain. My solution is going to be a shed or another garage/add on next summer. Hopefully the money saves up in time for it.

This has been a long time coming. I fixed up my shed. TOO weeks ago I replaced rotting panels down under both windows & today my wife & I changed the color from red with white trim to this. It matches my other buildings now. We got 'er done in less than 4 hours !

You have nothing to be ashamed of Jesse. Not everyone can eat off their garage floor. Don't tell anyone but some of my trucks even leak some oil/grease/trans fluid/etc from time to time. If anyone should be embarrassed it would be me. 22x22 attached garage, 24x36 detached garage, 30x50 pole barn, and 30x40 pole barn. How many vehicles you think get parked inside? lmao

It happens bud. Good luck with your project. Looks like you got a great start on it. Having a plan and goal is a big part of the battle. Got mine cleaned out with intentions of parking my wife's vehicle inside. Went to an auction and bought 10 sections of shelving to organize the basement. Now I need to clean out the basement and organize it in order to empty the garage again. lmao

We all got a little hoarder in us Jesse..... We have baby stuff (my kids are 21/25) that the wife refused too part with, one of these days I'm going too the Salvation Army and it'll be a year before she realizes it and makes me move in with them rotflmao

Of course she says the same thing about all my hunting/fishing stuff lol

Good stuff Jesse, don't feel bad we filled up a 12 yard dumpster to the brim a month or so ago from my building and our basement. It's a great feeling to have everything clean and organized, the hard part for me is to keep it that way!

The garage has been a catch all from the day we moved in and I've been so busy doing other things around here, it has fallen to the wayside time and time again. Now that the list of things to get done is much shorter than when we moved in, I can focus on this. Lesson learned though because next time, the garage/shop is the first thing to get organized so that I'm prepared for all the other projects that are sure to come!!!

I use this Sears tractor to ride part way to my stands. My legs aren't the best and a mans got to do what a mans got to do to get it done sometimes. I thought the tractor was a bit stand outish so I modified it a bit last October. Blends in much better now.
