I'm in a dip in the field below him approximately 70 yards away, still downwind of him.

Got within 40 yards of him.

The other deer that was with him busted me right when I tried to range him.

Well, I should have him and the other on my Tactacam.

The big guy didn't see, hear or smell me. He just followed the other.

It was close and fun!

Now I'm headed home to dry out and try to get back out later.

I'm soaked!

BTW, if you don’t believe this can happen to you. Lock your legs and stand at attention till you pass out...I’ve seen that happen a bunch of times. Same concept without the chance of recovery.

PPE is the last line of defense and should never give you a secure feeling inside. Be like curing you hand with a circular saw because you have leather gloves on. No shit it didn’t work?!

That’s why some of them come with an extra strap to put you foot in to it and you can stand up and take the pressure of the cinch points. Not a 100% cure all but it’ll work for a while...
