Been thinking I needed a new 22. No manly man has ever felt he had too many guns. So I went to a gun shop today looking for a Ruger 10/22. All gone. In fact the selection of guns was pretty meager. However, a Henry carbine caught my eye. I’ve been thinking it would be good to have another 22 with squirrel chasing in mind, specially with Jamie and his dogs. It was fortuitous that Jamie texted as I was filling out the paperwork. It seemed appropriate to call him on the way home and we now have our first squirrel festival planned tentatively.

Here she is. Enjoy the view... this thing is an absolute joy to shoot. Hopefully it will accurate as well and I hope to sight in appropriately tomorrow afternoon.

Nice looking gun Brock, a buddy of mine is looking for a Henry in .22 mag. He’s not in a hurry. And from the looks of it. That’s good 😂

I really like lever guns
I have a Henry in .44

We have a 60s model Marlin in 22 that was my father in laws favorite squirrel gun. That thing will drive nails. Likely the best shooting 22 I’ve ever fired. I’ve had it along a time or two with Jamie. He can attest to that guns accuracy. As I recall, I shot one through the head at about 200 yards, across a ravine with a nasty crosswind and the sun in my eyes. We packed a lunch for Jamie and sent him off to fetch the dead squirrel. In all seriousness, it is a great shooting gun and a joy to shoot. I will say at this point the Henry is a fun gun. Tomorrow I’ll find out how well it shoots. With the shorter barrel I would be surprised if it shoots as well as my late father in law’s.

You did that with the Cricket. Unless you did it again.

We were just talking about getting dad one of these for Christmas. We always joke when we buy him something to do with hunting we always tell him we will get it back one of these days so we might as well buy him something we like as well.

Do it. Then take him out and enjoy shooting with him. I have all my dad's guns now. I'd rather have the time with him shooting. I actually taught him more about guns and gun safety than he did me. We never had guns when I was a kid. He never started buying until Obama was elected. Then he went on a binge. Lol
