Being able too do this, and have another place too sleep is a definite plus. Takes some of the pressure off...
It is also an added rush and stress. Mind can take that and turn it into a negative pretty quickly. Lol. Stay positive homeboy! You will be sick of pizza by the time this is over, lol.

Ever thought about a separate thread for this one Jim? This is a bit more than a "project". It is full on remodel. I'd like to say I'm impressed because I definitely am. I won't say I'm surprised. You do things right and this shows. Loving what I am seeing so far. Major props go out to you. This is no small undertaking.
I have thought about it. I don't know. I barely have time to post one update along the way, let alone periodic updates throughout the entire project. Maybe when it's complete I'll put something together. Man, thanks for the encouragement though. It's been a relatively fun process so far. I enjoy it. Mainly because I'm finally doing something to improve my OWN home, something that I am invested in for the long haul.

Thanks bud. All positive for me. I have no reason in my life to be negative about anything. This hectic life of mine is all self-inflicted and I take full responsibility for it. I really don't have a choice... My brain is only happy when it's on an ambitious path.

You nailed it regarding the pizza. I've been keeping a stash of frozen pizzas at the house that I can just pop in the oven there while I'm working. I'm about over that. :ROFLMAO:

Hey @giles, guess what day it is? 😂

No pics but Allen and I worked on tearing down the old ceiling over our back door area and landings into the house. All old lathe boards and plaster, nice mess that took just as long to clean up as it did tearing it down. Still have plans to remove the one landing and stairs that head into our kitchen. That will become a breakfast nook that will have a great view to the back yard, with a good bit of work that is. The other landing will be the main entrance to the house now through the laundry room. Definitely will be set up better for us I think. It's an old farm house with a great view out the back however nothing really looks out back except for those landings and an addition where our master bedroom is.

I’ve reached a really big moment in the project. Not quite the finish line, but a huge mental victory considering where we started.

Finally... drywall is coming tomorrow.

A couple hundred 2x4’s, 30 sheets of plywood, 6000 crown staples, 12 tubes of liquid nails, 120-ft of Pex pipe, countless construction screws and nails, 600-ft of wire, 1200 sq ft of closed-cell spray foam... and I can’t even tell you how many man hours now at this point. Finally, it’s looking like a house should look. I couldn’t help but stand there, look around, and smile just before I shut the lights out tonight. God is good.
