Doggone good dog thread

My first “hunting” dog Cade a 10 month old GSP. Hoping to get him out this year and start working him. He has a ton of natural drive, I’ve been reading and watching a ton of videos on training etc. He’s pretty awesome to have around and work with even if we never get a bird.

Thanks J. Going well. We've all been here... multiple times, but it's a weird feeling. It's like a new lease on life, yet with a hollow feeling. No more getting up at 4 am to let him out, I can go to bed whenever I want, no more picking up shit in the yard. You lay in bed & u think you hear his nails walking around. I look at my wife & her dog & tell them , chances are one of them is next...lol

Been there, Kevin. It is the ghost noises the first week that get ya. Was that Sully pawing at the door to go out? Or opening the front door to let your pooch out . . . Only to remember you don't need to let him out. Those make the allergies act up. I hate losing a good dog.

This is Riley, he’s the the first dog that was mine and not a family dog. My fiancé and I rescued him from a pretty poor situation a year and a half ago, guessing he was 3-4 years old then. The bastard is my shadow and the most loyal dog a fella could ask for, and almost too smart for his and my own good. Fishes, scouts and drinks beers with me, can’t ask for a whole lot more other than he can be mouthy with new people, right @OhioWhiteTails ? 😂
