Well, I accomplished mission #1 today and harvsted a mature doe. I am completely out of venison, so perfect timing. About an hour after I watched the big boy walk across the street to the sanctuary. Tough decision, but I need meat. And tomorrow's rain should wipe away any scent. She rain to other side of woods towards road, so it worked out kinda perfect. She made it about 75 yards after the shotView attachment 67871

Congrats! What broad head?

Saw two deer separately one was running thru woods not sure if it was a buck. Then definitely a buck chasing a doe but couldnt see it well enough to determine antlers. Then nothing. Left around 10 but will go back soon.
Good luck guys!

Well , getting ready to walk into another property . I haven't been in here in a couple weeks . Since I'm not seeing shooters or signs of a hot doe at the other places I've been I figure I might as well try a sit here . Gonna slip in where two woodlots corner together on the downwind side of beding . The two fields that make the other two blocks are standing corn and alfalfa .

Didn't see a thing this morning, which was what I was afraid of.

Now I'm at my 'Southern CRP Stand' for the rest of the day.

Based on one of the trailcams, I had a real decent buck come through here earlier this morning.

Winds are still out of the North-Northeast with decent gusts, which means if they're in that CRP field in front me, they shouldn't be able to wind me.

I've only hunted this stand once before very early in the season.

I have some heavy deer trails below me that split coming from/to the CRP field.

So we shall see what happens here for the rest of the day.

Good luck to those that are still at it!

Have a good one!!

I moved . Nice 10 point was cutting the corner right where I was planning to set up . I didn't spook him. Let him walk off .

It was one I have a shitload of pictures of here . Told myself before not to shoot him but he looked pretty nice in person . I'd be surprised if he doesn't come back just cause he's been a regular here .
