And I think they will walk through a pile of dead deer to get to a couple of pears...doesn't change the fact they kill a ton of deer.
I've shot, snared, trapped 43 yotes just on my 60 acres in 10/11 and I don't think I've dented the population.

i covered 5-6 miles of fencerow on the quad this morning while the ground was still semi-frozen. Both sides of the fences so a total of 10-12miles. Covered another 1-2miles on foot. Covered 3 plus miles on foot last night with one of my kids. I guess you could call that 6 plus miles. My buddy was on his quad following ditches and fence rows. We found zero sheds, but today I found the fourth carcass. These deer could have been unrecovered from hunting season, but I don't think this is the case. In the locations they were, I just don't feel they could have been hit by cars either.
I don't think the coyotes are "out of control" in my hunting areas yet. I do feel they are starting to really expand and I am seeing more every year. They are a concern that I am keeping an eye on. It is just a matter of time if you leave them unchecked, and they will make many more counties match Fayette. I am a bit worried as a hunter with 3 kids just about ready to start hunting. I would like them to know and appreciate the sport as I do.

And they will eat your deer minerals TOO... Not good to have Coyotes hangin out at the mineral site.........

So Mount is saying that the only deer that the coyotes will kill are the weak, injured, or fawns and that those deer don't matter? Im confused by your argument. Even If the coyotes are only killing these deer you are still losing 75% of your future deer herd because of lost fawns.

When i first started hunting Ohio back in 07", I noticed several things..One of them was the age structure of your deer herd. I couldnt believe how mature your bucks were and more importantly how mature the Doe's were that i encounterd. Right off the bat i noticed how special Ohio was the first year i hunted. The crown jewel of Ohio is the mature Doe's. They are the foundation. They have experience in succesful birthing..they produce high quality fawns..they may produce 2 to 3 fawns per season. Smart doe's rear smart offspring. These Doe's prepare their young and teach them to survive..they are the foundation to a flourishing deer herd. How does one argue against experience?
Some of you fellows may be experienceing the results or the ramifications from the high Doe allocation quotas. I think whats happening is the removal of your Matriarch doe's is causing an imbalance.

Fayette County used to have a bounty on them - 25 per head. Like everything, the money ran out.
I knew the answer, as I have read several reports.. I just wanted to see what he knew, as he seems to think he has it all figured out...

Coyotes are the last thing im worried about..Its the amish, their 6 doe tags and indiscriminate killing that i fear.
Like i said..You want to find the answer..look in the mirror. The species youll be looking at has a history of causing things to go exstinct.

Hence the reason that we have a DNR that is supposed to stop us from doing that. However they have used ourselves against us to protect the monetary profits of insurance companies and lobbyist

I guess the fact that there are a ton of weekend warriors that can't shoot worth a crap or just take Shit shots, I've seen a ton of dead deer this shed season, do they caculate those numbers? We should!
