Awesome Ric! I was out Friday evening, Saturday, and close to 4hrs yesterday. Zilch. I think the squirrels got some of them, and the flooding took away many of the others. Then I was surprised to see the one buck still carrying on Saturday. Hard saying because I have hit all my main bedding areas and hunting locations with only finding 2 this year. My buddy was out with me yesterday and was out yesterday morning as well. We are hitting it hard but he didn't find any either. Dang!

Triple88 and I are convinced Clark county deer either bury their antlers, or throw them in the creek...

Found 4 today which makes a total of 5 for 2011,,It may take me to the end of May but i will catch you guys...JD/Gern...You boys are goin down..

Mountaineer,

Are we still "going down" ?

You sure have been quiet lately.......probably out looking for sheds, huh?

Not sure how many JD has, but I am up to 22 on the year now.......how many you got?

*Note:...All sheds Mountaineer finds are from publicland or from extremly heavily hunted privateland...All sheds come from hunted and or huntable deer.:smiley_bril:

Good one Mountaineer! At least you give your sheds a chance to hide! The ones we find are set up on a pedestal and have a light shining on them....they are so easy to find a caveman could do it!rotflmao

BTW, I've never found a shed while turkey hunting......I guess I'm too busy looking for turkeys??????

Yeah Yeah..i know..You guys are the shed kings but im gonna keep lookin..maybe you guys will get tired of lookin for em and ill quietly catch up....As far as Turkey hunting..I find alot of sheds because im walking from sunrise to 12 noon..Im constantly moving and covering ground till its closing time...This is when i find the big boys. :)

I don't turkey hunt. Clue me in here if you would? I thought you found a general area you know they are and sit idle while calling them in? I can tell you we just don't have many turkey in the area, but I can also tell you where we have them everybody and their brother knows they are in there. I don't like turkey at Thanksgiving so I have no desire to kill one to eat.

Hicks..

what???...You dont turkey hunt?..Thats crazy....Nothin better than hearin a gobbler at first light during the spring..Here is my style of turkey hunting...Pull into publicland parking lot a hour hour before light...find a high point..wait for light and listen..they will raise hell for about 15 mins...or until they hit the ground...and then i go after em...Ill hike and hike until i kill one.

They have only recently started to reintroduce them around here. We are just now seeing small pockets which hold 6-12 turkeys. Might see one area with a handful of turkeys, then drive 5-10miles and know where there is another pocket of turkeys. They just aren't very prevalent around here. Besides that, I will take the sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, and casseroles over the turkey any day. lol

To be honest..I dont come to Ohio for great turkey hunting..Its average hunting at best..However..I doit because i get to cover alot of ground and in the mean time im deer scouting..The buck i killed this year and my buddies buck were both the result of scouting in spring turkey season. I hunted Missouri spring bird season for almost 10 years..Now..that state provides incredible spring bird hunting on their publiclands..Some mornings id hear up to 50 Gobblers raisin hell all around me.

Once you try some marinated turkey breast deep fried into bite size nuggets you will be hunting them!

Hey Mountnear, are the last two sheds you posted a set? Just wonderin'. Great pics by the way....and for the record, ALL of us are shed hunting land where there is heavy hunting pressure and such. Just sayin'.

Finely..

The last 2 sheds are from diffeent bucks about 50 miles apart...The first one was found on publicland the second was found while i was workin on a peice of privateland....I took alittle break and busted the brush alil...Found it on the east side of a knoll above a creek.

Goodeye tho....cuz they look very similar.

Found a little 3 point antler on Sunday and another that was chewed down to a stump. I'll post a picture later...nothing to get all that excited about, but at least I didn't come home emptly handed.
