Came home to a flooded main bath Monday thanks to a worn out seal on the flapper. It drained through the seam in the drywall ceiling below, as well as the light fixture. Thankfully nothing was underneath for it to ruin and it's largely dried up with minimal impact to the ceiling. Glad it happened while we were here and not while we were at the beach!

The same day, the light stopped working on the ceiling fan in our bedroom. I heard the switch closest to the main door "short" a few times and it was in the back of my mind to replace it. Replaced both switches in the 3-way all while cussing, sweating, bleeding, and getting shocked because I forgot it was a 3-way and hot on the ground side too 😂

Thankful I don't need to pay someone to fix these things for me. Would have been a $500-600 total fix for both if I didn't know anything about troubleshooting and basic DIY stuff. Cost me $3 for switches and we replaced the whole toilet as an update for $150.

A few weekends and boom. All rough cut materials and my 10x10 chicken paradise is finished. Unsquare lumber, a bunch of home made materials and a ton of swearing! But it’s done. Hopefully the wife gets off my back now and I can get on with further projects around the house and get back to hanging stands! Just thought I’d share

Been on the China virus quarantine. I'm negative. No symptoms. So I have been implementing the skills I have been training on for 22yrs. Up until now it was just practice to avoid my wife. Finally I am on muscle memory autopilot avoiding the shit out of her. All those training drills of avoiding her are paying off now boys! 🤣🤣🤣

For the record she doesn't need me. Basic sinus and flu symptoms thus far. If I need to step up and care for her I will.

Empty rental. New tenants moving in soon. EVERY single tenant has asked if they could out contact paper on the interior of the cabinets. Not a single person did it. Truthfully, contact paper wasn't going to cut it. The old lathe and plaster covered with wallpaper was hideous. Everything else is decent and updated. The inside of cabinets never touched. I bought 4x8' sheets of vinyl material similar to the underside of a fifth wheel camper or outdated bathroom from the 70/80's. But to cover, brighten, and make interior of cabinets easy to clean? It's perfect. Sucked fitting all the pieces. Once cut and pre-fit, they were easy to liquid nail and put in place. Next up will be the horribly dated countertop. I told them let me have one day in the winter and I would swap it out.
