Had to get through a full season of life with this garage before I really settled in. Spent all weekend cleaning and reorganizing based on what I've learned in our 18 months here. The area that's got the dog kennels in it will become a custom workbench/multi-dog kennel. It'll be 32" deep with 3, individual 32" wide kennels. Once the next batch of puppies is out, it'll get built and I'll be done in here. My dad never used this garage like a garage, it was basically a storage shed. We spends lots of time out front and with this being the best place to run the grill and watch storms, it'll get plenty of use.
There was still plenty of evidence of having raised chickens in here last year, so just the cleaning was way overdue!

Thinking about doing something different with my turkey from this year. Maybe incorporate the buck I shot a couple yrs ago from the same farm. Ain't sure what to do with the beard or spurs. Any suggestions?

I like it just like that. Maybe put the beard on the bucks chin. Have a little fun with it, be different. Call him Burkey or Buckey
Ready for game day and fight night outside. Going to snag a little portable fire pit to sit on the concrete and we'll have a nice spot for enjoying time with people at an appropriate distance, while limiting people in the house. Plus, it's just nice to have in a space where we spend a lot of time.

I picked up two 283s and a 454 at auction today and a bunch of tools and equipment

I have 1 living childhood friend left. We get together once a month to visit over a project.
I have a old Columbian Vice from Gramp's shop made around 1940. Its been in poor shape for years, anchored to a bench in the garage I do some projects in. The company is still based in Cleveland. The vice is tough to open an close after a couple of inches.
We broke it down completely then started cleaning, then went over all the parts w/ the braded wire wheel.
After that, we reassembled. The final step was to warm the metal with a torch and rub it down with a clean rag and oil. A very nice half day project.
She's smooth as butter now. I liked leaving what original green paint I had left on it. Could have striped it all, but I like the look.

Got some long time coming and needed home improvements made this weekend. Our water from our well has always been total crap. Finally broke down and got a water softener installed with a R.O. system for cooking and drinking water.
Got to thinking and our water heater is a 80 gallon electric that was here when we moved in almost 17 years ago, and it wasn't new then either. I can only imagine the amount of iron and sediment build up is in that thing. Add to that how long it would take the softener to really clean it out. So the wife and I chatted and we sprung for a new tankless water heater. This runs on propane and will eliminate the old dinosaur of a tank.
You can see the dinosaur in the back ground. It been draining since 2:40 this afternoon and still ain't done.

We got a tankless water heater a couple of years ago. We love everything about it except it takes about one minute for the shower to get hot. The further from the heater...the longer it will take. Once the waters hot, you don’t have to worry about running out. We have ours set at 120 degrees...that’s another plus, you can set the temp that you want so it doesn’t get too hot.
