TOO Weight Loss - Biggest Loser Edition

Six pounds up for the holiday season. We don't do anything special for New years. Water water water.....I'm glad it's over.

Nothing a few days back on track wont fix!

Glad ya brought this TTT, its that time of year again where fellas get motivated to make a change for the upcoming calendar flip. Here's to hoping it isn't just motivation, but discipline and life changing decisions to be made to make a permanent difference for the long run.

Small diet tweaks and consistent workouts have helped me maintain the 195-200lb target achieved almost 3yrs again when I turned 40. Now its just fun to keep the body comp. change going, albeit slower than when I was 20 lol.

I need to dial up my discipline for sure. Far too much stress eating and drinking to be sustainable long-term. A big part of my plan to do better is renovating my man cave area so we can move all the exercise equipment in there. Having a dedicated space to workout will be a welcome change. The other thing I see helping is my middle daughter, who will be 9 in 6 weeks, loves working out. She wants to join me in my workouts and that's a fun addition to the equation. I've been maintaining an "acceptable" weight, but I'm not in good shape. 50# bags of feed feel heavier than they should, so I have to start fighting the aging more than the weight!

I’m in the worst shape I’ve ever been in and feel that way as well. Today starts the change to turn things around as it will only get harder as I age plus affect me later. No more excuses to work out, I need stop eating late at night, need to engage in more physical activity, and no more eating my kids leftovers because I don’t want to throw it away. Let’s go…

Get it! A very simple and helpful booster for maintaining and losing is just keep moving. Don't sit down at the end of the day for anything more than eating and using the bathroom. Stay moving daylight to bedtime. A set of pushups and sit ups every morning when you get up does wonders as well. If a work out is skipped your still burning off something.

You weren't to big to catch! Lmao! Levi and I talked about that yesterday when he did the same thing. I happened to be in the right spot again and caught him. Maybe I should add some grip tape to that step.

Haha it’s all good and thanks again for saving my ass. I’m the dumb ass that was holding the crossbow bolt with broad head when I did that too.

New years reality wake up. My lower back and neck are as stiff as seasoned hickory every morning. Implementing stretching morning and evening. I did this for some time in September from feeling locked up all the time and it started working well until I stopped, i need a routine. Being just in decent shape or a healthy weight will mean nothing if I'm not mobile.

148 with a hoodie on. Good times. Back to the gym next week.

You guys that are intermittent fasting daily or are eating one meal a day what time do you like to eat so you have enough energy to fuel yourself to make it through the day?

I typically pair intermittent fasting with "time restricted eating." The two go hand in hand are effectively the same in practice. IM is meant to be 18 hours at a minimum to be effective, so by default, you are eating within a tight time frame. So I may eat more than once, but try to do that in the tightest window possible. I'm the opposite of Adam, I rarely eat breakfast and try not to eat after 8P. If I have my last calorie intake at 8P, I can get to 16 hours easily by not eating until lunch the next day. I may eat lunch 2 days a week, largely because my job has me in lunch meetings a lot. On the weekends, I typically eat one meal, being dinner. During the week, I do skip lunch as much as possible to get me to the 18-20 hour mark on my daily fast, then I'll do all my eating between 2 or 4P and 8P. Some days, it's one meal, some days, I snack for 4 hours straight. I just listen to my body and feed it accordingly.

I have loved to eat my entire life. Even when I was a little kid, I was always ready to eat. Learning and accepting just how bad eating three or more meals a day is for a human body was pretty hard at first, but my personal health concerns was enough of a push to make eating once a day my normal habit for well over a year now. I was a very dedicated breakfast eater until about two years ago, being taught my whole life that this is "the most important meal of the day" and giving that up was hard. Now I just eat "breakfast" foods for dinner occasionally. I have not attempted a fast longer than 24 hours, but it is my intention after squirrel season to try some 48 hour or longer fasts once a month. I typically eat one solid healthy meal a day, usually between 5 and 6pm. Sometimes I will eat a late lunch around 2 or 3 or just get a couple bites of something fatty or meaty if I get really hungry in the afternoon. No snackies of any sort after 7 or 8, but I'm usually in bed before 10 so that isn't too hard. One thing is for certain, the busier I am, the less I eat and the less I eat, the better I feel.

I've found I much prefer to not put the energy into worrying about nutrition/eating times/beer, etc. vs. using that energy to workout. My fuse burns slower, my sleep is solid and I have a wider range of eating choices...as long as I put in the work. This just reflects steps, add in weights and it only proves consistency is key. Gotta stack them bricks every.single.day! Eating decent, 10K/day and some strength training makes it very easy to manage.

Would love to had this watch for the 2yrs leading up to turning 40, as much as I despise it😁

I originally started when I wasn't sure i could do this lifestyle change. I figured I had it as a security net. But after I started and learned that I loved eating like this, I stopped taking it. Slowly the irritation in my joints came back. Then I fell off the wagon and introduced carbs again. Over the holidays I did the sugar thing again knowing I was in deep shit. I am no longer diabetic (by numbers, once diagnosed you can't go back) so the shot wasn't covered by insurance. I didn't think I could even get it for joint pain but I talked to my primary and she said things were changing as they learn all the benefits from this type of medication. So she tried submitting it for chronic joint pain and it was accepted. 5 days in and I can already feel a difference. It also really helps with my sleep. I am on the lowest dose and I dont have any side effects. I wont increase unless the pain doesn't go away.

My ramble is to explain that this isnt a crutch. I would rather take one shot, once a week than to take pills multiple times a day. Hopefully this shot gives you the same relief it gives me. It's benefits are way beyond the weight loss. Dont be ashamed.
