I have the 455 Rancher. Bar and chain oiler don't work for shit. Hopefully you don't have that problem. Other than that it runs good. When I buy another saw it'll be a stihl though.

Have you pulled the chain and cleaned out the bar where the chain runs? Also, there's a couple of little holes that need cleaned out periodically where the bar meets the saw.....

Unless it's an issue with the newer saws, I haven't had any issues with the oiler just have too do a little preventive maint.....

I have a Stihl farm boss that I love and I've cut tons of wood with it. I got it right before they switched over to the new, more expensive version with lower emissions or whatever. I've heard good things about the Husq. saws too and almost bought one but this saw was bought locally and came with a 2 year warranty.

I've done all that, even taken it to the shop a couple times. Mine is about 6 years old.

Take a look at this, it may help you out.... It explains the oil system pretty good....

Here's another version, it's a Stihl saw but the premise would work as well on any saw.....

We have a terraced portion in the backyard where I think previous owners had a pool. I'm going to build it so that you can walk straight in to it from the back side, then climb down via a net or slide down. I'll have an area boxed in around the slide/base that I'll fill with rubber mulch. Going to have a couple swings, sliding windows, door and a balcony. I'll probably over do it like I do most things.

I am doing a new play set for my kids. Will post plans later. I have hand sketched them out but haven't printed them up.

Best of luck. Options are limitless on play sets. I like your idea. Sounds pretty cool.

Projects? We have one going on. 2 years ago we decided we really needed to paint. Several months later (heck, maybe a year later but I can't remember anymore), we picked out colors. Planned on doing it over the winter. Winter got busy. We did take a pencil and mark B/G/T on the walls for color they would end up being. We were optimistic. Unfortunately, since choosing colors I have painted the entire interior of 2 rental properties while our house sits with B/G/T on the worn walls.

Why isn't it done? Well, 8yrs ago we added on. The drywall guys were more like roofers, framers, or foundation guys. Needless to say, there are cracks and botched areas I knew would need attention prior to paint. In addition to the cracks and blemish repairs, when they had our roof opened up to perform the addition, we got some water damage. It was covered with Killz at the time and painted but over time the stain has bled through. Some of the old plaster started to peel with the 8yr old paint. Long story short, my wife agreed to pay half the bill if we hired it out. Who am I to argue? Granted I am covering materials AND half the labor, it is better than the whole bill. The people doing the work are going to do a two tone knockdown on the entire area as well. This will look more modern and help blend the smooth drywall finished ceilings and the old sand swirl plaster finish into a uniform appearance. In the meantime, our house is a disaster but it will be nice to have this completed.

Jesse I will post up pics of the one I built for my kids. My cousin and I had one similar to it and we lived in this thing during the summers while growing up.

There you have it. Not finished yet. House is a mess with drywall dust, tarps, and plastic. Kitchen table and counters have all the pictures/food stuff/tools/knick knacks and stuff all over them. When it is done, it will be nice. Just need a second coat of paint on everything. Then they tape off the walls and spray the knock down on the ceilings. Unfortunately, the old water stain bled through the primer on the living room ceiling. Between 3" of snow melt and torrential rains yesterday, I was able to find s small leak. It appears I need to redo the flashing around a dormer on our roof. Once I fix this I will have the painters finish the ceilings.

This is out of my normal fuddy duddy sense of taste. Color on the walls (other than the kids' bedrooms) is not my style. This will be a much more modern look for our home. I feel all hip and cool like Beentown or Curran. Lol

Our project is mostly complete. Still need to put the tile backsplash in the kitchen. My phone makes the colors look a bit off from what they are. Makes them look more "Mystery Machine" colors than they truly are. The green is more mint than lime like it appears in cellphone pics. Knock down on the ceilings really added a modern look and extra character more than I thought it would. Wifey is happy.

Extra pics of the deer were twofold. One: I know you all like horn porn. Plus, Brian and Chad can bust my chops about fitting more deer in there. (Got to give them some ammo. Lol) Secondly, I like the shadows, the deer's color against the blue, and also it showed the variance in the color in different lighting.

I had a dead scotch pine, two dead cherry trees and a huge triple trunked sugar maple that has been dead for 2 years that need cut down. I didn't have much of an area to store that amount of firewood, so I had to come up with a solution. $18 in landscape timbers and some leftover decking boards was the solution. I'll easily fill this up before I'm done. Should last me a good while and I'll have plenty for both TOO gatherings this year.
