I had a dead scotch pine, two dead cherry trees and a huge triple trunked sugar maple that has been dead for 2 years that need cut down. I didn't have much of an area to store that amount of firewood, so I had to come up with a solution. $18 in landscape timbers and some leftover decking boards was the solution. I'll easily fill this up before I'm done. Should last me a good while and I'll have plenty for both TOO gatherings this year.

That will keep you on the wood for sure. Looks like it'd hang a deer in a pinch. If said deer got frozen enough, you could just slide it down the hill...

Finally done! Just need to load up the pile and haul it up to the old shed. Should last me a good while since I only use it for TOO outings and the occasional fire outside. Felt good to not wuss out and get a splitter.

Now I need to clean up all the bark and chips, then seed some shade tolerant grass and put straw down. Got a long list of chores Saturday. I'll try to take some pics and share my work when I'm done...

Finally got a Saturday off! Looks like I will be replacing the floor in my shed and replacing a few damaged sections of my fence. The guy who is doing my roof just left, he's gonna be starting on tuesday. His helper is going to give me a price to replace my chimney as well. Sunday I am going to lowes to get supplies to paint my eaves, window frames, and porch. I am also going to get some flag stones and sand to widen our patio and some quick rete to patch op the stone fire pit.

Next up is a new storage building to be used specifically for hunting, fishing, trapping and camping Stuff. My current shed is going to be used for lawn mower and tools. My intention is to build a mini barn tall enough that I can hang a deer in so the neighbors don't have to witness the skinning and butchering. Not so much worried about the people on my right as much as the little girl on the left.

My contractor called. He'll be out to lay some paint on dirt for my building site tomorrow.

Foundation dig is scheduled for Tuesday.

My long awaited commercial metal building 36'x54'x14'. (aka. Man Cave) will arrive April 30 from CO.

Should be a long summer tasking this project coupled with coaching baseball, softball, and my parents yard (Dad's getting double knee surgery/replacement).

Great stuff Jesse/Dave/ & Ben!

Here is my wife's latest project. Tile backsplash in kitchen. Funny how we did nothing for 6-7 years. Last year we (me and my guys) did our patio. This year we had a contractor make drywall repairs, do knockdown on the ceilings and painted the interior. Now my wife does this? My dad and wife worked on this today. Half day project. Neither had done it before. My wife readily admits she "wanted" to help but didn't do much of it. I feel her pain. When on a project with my dad, it is best to stand back and hand things he requests while taking mental notes to learn. He gets in "the zone". Tomorrow they plan to grout. Erin might get her hands dirty on this portion.

I am going to be the first to give my wife kudos on this one. She bought it all. We picked it out together. We planned it together. She organized swindling my dad into helping her (which probably didn't take much effort). I cannot take any credit for this. Makes me feel good knowing she can take care of herself in the event something would happen to me.

As for finished project? I am on the fence. Seems a bit dark but the lighter colored grout might lighten it up some. Bottom line: she is happy, I am happy. She doesn't care about what I do to my shop, office, or hunting tree house. I don't care what she does to her kitchen. It is her canvas. She enjoys cooking and creating dinners. I don't.

Looks good Jesse!

Ben, please take lots of pictures and do a write up as the shop progreses. If i recall, you have an outside wood burner (or maybe not lol). Plan on tapping in and doing radiant heat in the shop floor?

Phil, your wife and father did a great job. Agreed a happy wife = happy life.

Better? I think the grout helped some of the look. Lightened it up a little. Defined the tiles a little better. Help reduce the "dizzy effect" any Ben?

This picture stolen from my wife's FB. I can't do the fancy picture editing stuff.

The layout was done Friday and digging was to occur today but cancelled to due rain. It will take a few days to dry out again. Try again later this week.
Yes, it will have electric (someday possible solar) radiant heat flooring. The floor insulation was the most expensive part thus far. I went with 1 1/4" thick Barrier. I have a interior wood burner as well, and a Lazy Boy, 42" flat screen TV, and 230 channels. :smiley_coolpeace:

My laundry list of chores is slowly being whittled down. Part of why I am so busy around the house is that we plan to have the house appraised in September in order to do a cash out refinance in an effort to cut our debt down to just our mortgage and an auto loan. This weekend, I spent time patching the yards, fixing settled landscape blocks, fixings the erosion on either side of my driveway, trimming bushes, tearing out landscaping and of course, mowing and weedeating.

Lots more on the docket including a facelift for the barn, painting of the soffit and gutters, staining of the decks and all new landscaping.
