Sorry to hear that Adam. Keep your head up and keep after them.

By the way, what is it you want to do? That way if I hear of anything or know anyone that could help you I can do what ever possible to help out.

I finally got the OFFICIAL Thanks but no Thanks letter in the mail this afternoon telling me they had filled the position.

I gave it a hell of a try. Back to square one again I guess.

Damn dude. That sucks. I hear tell you made it very high on the list. That's good news though because if they have another slot you're gonna get first shake. Don't let it be the end. Keep in contact with them. Once a month or so just give them a call and ask how things are going, hows projects. yada yada.. Show a genuine interest.. I have seen where the person is the deciding factor in creating a new position. They may think they need a new position but are like ehhh, wellll, I don't know... When the topic comes up, It's much easier if they have a great person in mind for them to say "Yeah, Lets do that. I know the perfect person.. "

I'm not sure what I want to be when I grow up :D.

Honestly, It's like trying to reinvent the wheel with me. Over my years I have put most of time into the construction trade in one form or another. I have done Framing, Roofing, Residential Electric, and even the lumber yard delivering to the jobsites. Since I got my back screwed up I can't do that stuff anymore. Well actually, I probably could but not for very long before I would be using a walker to get around.

I just need to find something that is far less stress on my back so now I'm struggling to find a new career path. I seem to come close but find that I'm either over qualified, under qualified, or just not what they are looking for. Then toss in the places that are still on hiring freeze and wallah. That's the way it has been for the last year and a half.

IT'S NOT EASY !!!!

Keep after it Adam. When one door closes, another door opens. Sometimes the opportunities come up from the most most unlikely of places.

BTW, if you ever figure out what you want to do when you grow up let me know. I wake up and wonder that same thing everyday.

Keep your positive attitude and good things will happen!!

Sorry to hear this Adam! You've gotten some great advise from the guys here on TOO! Hang in there, but definitely call them once in awhile and let them know you're still available. Goodluck!

thanks fellas.

It will be a welcomed and long overdue change in the household. The other thing that's a plus is working one week and having a week off and I will have vacation time for the rut next year if I get in now lol.
