For my good experience if it doesn't work for you, you did something wrong. LOL
That's what I was leading to in my post. Just because a hunter gets busted or winded after smoking up or spraying down or taking every precaution against the deers nose doesn't mean
it was the reason. I believe hunters get caught moving far more than they realize. Nearly every TV show has taped the hunter/shooter sleeping, texting, reading or playing on their phone instead if paying attention. Plus, many times the camera man is the one who whispers or taps the
Pro hunter on the shoulder alerting him a slob is on his way in to the set. The other thing I meant by not being "fool proof" is I think some hunters get sloppy or complacent which led to them being busted more than anything.
Will deer ever learn that smoke smell could also mean human/predatory danger? Maybe if a deer smells smoke looks around and goes back to feeding/walking gets wounded moments later by errant shot gets put it that deer memory bank. Maybe another deer smells smoke sniffs the air nervously for 10 minutes and slowly settles down and a few minutes later afterwards catches the hunter drawing back or hears his stand squeak when he shifts his weight then blows outta there! Is that remembered? Don't know but hunters just need to stop relying so much on the aids and still hunt smart.
