Well I got back in the gym today and have been back to eating well for a week now. I'm back down to 225 from 230. It sure is a vicious circle!

219.5 this morning after a solid stretch of adhering to my modified paleo diet. It really seems to work well for me.

I am going to have a full wellness screening done toward the end of February. I'm considering going gluten-free and plan to have them check me for a wheat allergy as well. I'm rarely without some level of congestion, even after quiting smoking. I suspect either a wheat or dairy allergy. I can live without wheat, dairy won't happen. I love me some cottage cheese! And yogurt is great fpr keeping the guts functioning smoothly.

Feels good to be back on track.

Most of this gluten free stuff is BS. The reason most feel better after doing it isn't because of an allergy...it is because they are cutting the shit (carbs) out of their diet to a level it is supposed to be with most sedimentary lifestyle.

Agreed. However even when I'm weeks in to the low carb diet, I still have congestion. My wheat and dairy intake is minimal, but I do still eat some. It could very well be tied to the horrible air quality around here.

I do have allergies, mainly dust and a few obscure things that rarely come up. If/When we build, I plan to install an air purifier as part of the HVAC.

Down to 204 this morning after my workout. Been doing 30 minutes of cardio 3-4 times a week on the elliptical we picked up. Using the heart rate monitor to gauge my effort. Trying to get back into shape in a more efficient and smarter way as I have noticed I don't have the time I used to, I was further out of shape then I ever have been and I don't want to deal with any avoidable injuries.

I am still working the fitness pal app, its nice to help track calories and such. I'm neutral on the advocare stuff, I really like the SPARK and how they are with MLS, NCAA athletes etc to minimize risk of peeing hot on a drug test but not sure how much the 24 day challenge really did for me other than start the journey.

Good work Doug!

I'm down to 218. I need to make/find time to exercise. It is really tough right now with my work schedule. Hopefully we get in our new office soon so that I'll be close to the gym and can go several times a week.

Or allergies in general. I have had congestion since October...sucks and I feel for you.

I have as well. Be careful with it. After ignoring mine for 2 1/2 months, and not being able to really breathe without pain, I finally went to the Dr. I've recently had CT scans that revealed some serious shit in my lungs. I've been on 2 different steroid pills, 2 inhalers, antibiotics, etc.. I have a pulmonary function test tomorrow and an appointment with the Pulminologist after that. Watching my Dad slowly dying of suffocation has me scared as shit about this. Not being able to even go out and play in the snow with my kid is just killing me, let alone being on the ice or in the woods.

Glad to hear your challenge went well and congrats on your weight loss. Do you mind posting up what you do that has made it a continued success for you?

First off, my diet in the past was horrendous. I was the dad stealing my kids' French fries at Wendy's. January 1, 2014 I got on the scale and said enough is enough. My buddy who I grew up playing ball with was posting stuff on facebook about Advocare and what it did for him. He lives in Orlando now, so I sent him a message, got his cell, gave him a buzz to see what this was all about because he was talking about how it changed his life for the better in regard to his health.

After talking to him, I bought the challenge off of him. In a nutshell, it gets you eating right and also provides you with the necessary supplements to prime your body for optimal weight loss. The challenge got me started toward better eating habits and also helped me get on the right track in regard to my health. For example, I used to take cholesterol medicine and blood pressure medicine. Not needed anymore.
The diet is easy! Basically, you eat like a caveman. Meats (I lived off my venison), poultry, fruits, veggies, nuts, etc... NO dairy, NO bad carbs. Top that off with the provided meal shakes, Spark amino acid drink, Metabolic Nutrition Supplements, and here I am not at 191. The first time I did the challenge I lost nearly 30 pounds. The second and third time (the one I just finished) it was less, but the results were still great in regard to energy levels and just how my clothes fit. It's unreal the compliments I get from people who see me everyday and people who haven't seen me in a year or so can't believe their eyes.

The first time I did the challenge I lost that weight without exercise. I was too busy with work and starting my HS baseball practices.

During the summer, when I did the challenge the second time, I was hitting the gym every morning for one hour. For the first time in my life I started seeing definition in my abs. I've played sports since I can remember, and never looked like that in my mid section. So, yes... the gym will help greatly. I honestly believe this challenge and the Advocare products such as the Thermoplus and Catalyst speed the results up that I would not have seen if I just went to the gym without using them.

This last time I did the challenge, I worked out from home, but not with the intensity I did over the summer. The last weeks of deer season, work, baseball starting... they all took up my time. I still saw results.

In between challenges, I take Catalyst 3 times a day, Thermoplus once in the morning, and I've maintained the good eating. I also use their replacement shakes, meal bars, and snack bars when I'm on the go.

Here is my link for more reading if you're interested:

And here is a movie with more info about what the challenge is and what it can do for you.

Fellas, I'm not bullshitting you. If I can do this a friggin monkey can.

If you are interested in the product, shoot me a PM and I'll guide you through the ordering process. You have to buy through a distributor. I believe in the products so much, and enjoy the products so much, that I decided to be a distributor to help people out in similar situations as I was. So, if you would like to try it, I'm your guy. It runs around $200 for everything you need minus the groceries. Best investment I've made in a long time.

I never checked this thread out before, this is great! Congrats to all who have been loosing the weight!

Ive always stayed in fairly good shape, I am still fairly young. I lift at least 4 times a week, I have added in a lot more cardio so I can burn off the extra beer, food, etc that I just can't seem to give up.

those of y'all who have a great diet, do you pre cook your meals? How do you seem to do it when you travel?
